A new split level, four bedroomed house. Welwyn, Hertfordshire.

  Design solution

A split level design, with the house organised about the central staircase, was adopted for the sloping site at Mardley Hill.

Landings and a study space, at half levels, overlook the main living area and entrance hall - making a virtue out of the split levels and allowing space and light to flow through the centre of the house.

The main living spaces run across the lowest level and open directly onto south facing deck terraces and the garden via full height and width glazing.

The large kitchen/dining room can be opened up to join the sitting room, by folding away the dividing flat panel acoustic wall system, resulting in a large open plan living space for every day or just for parties.

Four bedrooms, a dressing room, three bathrooms, an office, a study and a laundry, together with an integrated double garage, make this an exciting family home.
