  Designing for you  
  Lint Design is interested in all projects which offer the opportunity to create memorable contemporary architecture. Generally we like to concentrate on houses, which by their very nature tend to offer more exiting possibilities to create inspiring architecture. We don't believe in imposing a preconceived style on every building we design, rather we respond to the constraints of site, budget and brief to inform our design solutions.  
  Following the process  
 

The process of design, drawings, specification, approvals, negotiations, consents and costings can seem very protracted and it can seem to take an age before building work actually starts. However, it is essential to see this period through and be happy with everything on paper before committing to actual construction. Changes on paper are much easier and cheaper to achieve than changes to built elements.

  
  Limiting surprises  
 

At Lint Design we believe that most problems can be avoided if all the necessary information is agreed and properly priced before allowing a builder to start. Commencing building work without drawings, specification, approvals, fixed price, building contract and programme can be a recipe for disaster.

Having said that, building by self-employing sub-contractors can be successful. But the realities of the personal time required to organise everything, the necessity of a flexible programme and a budget which is not too tight must be considered.

  
  Keeping the vision  
  Finally, the most important thing is to maintain the vision of your original ambition. Often the more exciting the scheme is, the easier it is to sustain the momentum necessary to achieve it.
